WHAT IS THE WOODSHED?
A harmonic drone practice tool for iPhone and iPad. You pick a chord, it holds the sound, and you play against it. No metronome, no bar lines, no backing track telling you where the beat is — just the harmony, sustained, for as long as you want it.
WHAT DO I NEED TO RUN IT?
An iPhone or iPad running iOS or iPadOS 17.6 or later, and a way to hear it that isn't the built-in speaker. AirPods, any headphones, or a Bluetooth speaker will do. No iPhone or iPad speaker gets loud enough to balance against an instrument, so treat this as part of the kit, not a nicety.
I CAN'T HEAR THE DRONE OVER MY HORN.
You're on the built-in speaker. It can't win that fight — there's no amount of volume in an iPhone or iPad that balances against an instrument at playing dynamic, and pushing it just adds distortion.
Put on AirPods or any headphones, or send it to a Bluetooth speaker. The drone is meant to sit under you like a section-mate, and it needs its own output to do that.
WHAT IS THE FULL KIT?
The Full Kit is a one-time in-app purchase that unlocks the complete chord vocabulary and every voicing option. It is not a subscription. You buy it once and it stays bought.
I BOUGHT THE FULL KIT AND IT'S GONE.
Tap Restore Purchases in the app. Purchases are tied to your Apple Account, so a new phone or a fresh install restores at no charge. If Restore doesn't bring it back, write us with the email on your Apple Account and we'll sort it out.
CAN I GET A REFUND?
Apple handles all refunds for in-app purchases — we can't issue them on our end. Request one at reportaproblem.apple.com. Tell us what went wrong anyway; that's how the app gets better.
WHY DOES IT WANT MY MICROPHONE?
Only to record you playing, and only when you tap RECORD. Audio is captured, mixed with the drone, and saved entirely on your device. Decline it and everything else in the app still works. See the Privacy Policy for the full account.
WHERE DO MY RECORDINGS GO?
They stay on your device. We have no server holding them and no way to reach them. Deleting a recording deletes the file; deleting the app deletes all of them. Save anything you want to keep before you uninstall.
